Relics found in the tomb of Egyptian pharaohs 2500 BC indicate the existence of kilims at that time, Each area has its own design and is generally used as a carpet. Of course, in countries such as India, China, Afghanistan, Pakistan and other Middle Eastern countries, kilim weaving is done. To strengthen and strengthen the kilim weavers, they use a type of knot known as "two knots" from the place where the roots enter the kilim.

Washing a kilim is like washing a carpet. Since most kilims are made of wool, it is better not to wash the kilims with washing powder and use carpet shampoo instead. And after washing the kilim with shampoo, use emollient. Then hang the kilim on a rope or railing and let it dry in the shade and in the wind. If there is a stain on your kilim, you should stain it before washing the kilim. Most kilims need color stabilization before washing. Because the paint may be mixed with detergent during washing, and for this reason, we must refer to the authorized carpet washers to wash the kilim so that the kilim is not damaged.
