"Pizza" evokes the country of "Italy". The word "pizza" is an Italian word meaning "eat everything messed up". But this popular food has come a long way in becoming a global food. The soldiers of Darius the Great (486-521 BC) baked a loaf of bread on their shields and covered it with cheese and dates. The "Greeks" learned to bake such breads from the Iranians.
Making This bread prevailed from Greece to Rome and became common in southern Italy. In fact, this delicious dish has a relatively long history and the appearance of it, back to the time of the Greeks living in "Magnagresia" in southern Italy.
Of course, pizza did not exist in its present form at that time and only consisted of flat bread, which was made with flour and baked with spices and oil. Tomatoes were unknown in Europe at that time.
Tomatoes imported to Europe in the 16th century for the first time, but were initially considered as a poisonous fruit until the poor people of Naples used it as a staple in their pizza breads in the late 18th century. These pizzas soon caught the attention of the world and took them to the slums of Naples.
Historians and experts believe that the main origin of pizza is in the area of Naples on the Italian island of Sicily, with a hearty and gifted people.
It is said that, in 1889 , Umberto, the then King of Italy, and his wife, Queen Margarita, when they decided on a voyage to the realm of their government, noticed that the poor people of Naples had thick bread in their hands with a few tomatoes and cheese on it. The queen ordered her servants to bring her a piece of the food, and after eating it, she felt that she liked this unknown food - known as pizza. This pizza set the standard for pizzas that still exists around the world today. Until about 1830, pizzas were sold in street stalls, and the first real pizzeria called "Anticaport Alba" was opened in Naples. Pizza became very popular among Italians and became their local food soon. Later, An Italian immigrant named Chenarolombardi opened a small shop in the Italian Quarter of New York. His student, Antonio Tutunopro, started baking pizza and selling it in the shop. It didn't take long for tobacco tobaccoto become popular, prompting Lombardi to open a pizzeria in 1905. But at that time, pizza consumption was still limited to Italian immigrants and was not very popular among Americans. After World War II, pizza consumption became more widespread and so popular among American soldiers in Italy that sometimes pizzerias could not meet the unlimited demand of their American customers. The American soldiers, who liked this local food, took it home with them. It might be interesting to know that October is the national pizza month in this country, which was named in 1987 at the first time , and it was a local Italian dish that became one of the most important symbols of this new and immigrant country. Today, consuming millions of pizzas every day, has so much become part of the eating habits of the people of the world, so that the Italians say, "We conquered the world with pizza.
